CEO Member: Laykin Fortner
We have asked Laykin a series of questions about CEO. The first question we asked was "What made you want to join CEO?"; she responded with "Something that made me want to join CEO was hearing from previous CEO members and realizing that having this opportunity is a once-in-a-lifetime chance and I needed to take it." Question number two was "What are you want to get out of being in CEO?"; she answered it with "I want to be able to confidently speak in front of large crowds and know how to manage a business and communicate effectively." Question number three was "How are you going to persevere when your project meets a rough spot?"; Laykin replied with “When our projects meet a rough spot, I plan on making sure it doesn’t go unnoticed and setting goals to make sure we can work around rough patches as a group." "What is one thing you want to work on personally?" was the fourth question she answered with "Personally, I want to work on my public speaking skills." The fifth question was "How do you think CEO is going to help you with your future goals?" Laykin said, "I think CEO will help me with my future goals because it will teach me how to better communicate effectively with other people, especially coworkers." "What type of opportunities are you want CEO to provide for you?" she replied with "I’m wanting CEO to provide me with the opportunity to gain experience my knowledge on business management and communication. I’d also like CEO to provide me with the opportunity to market other businesses." And the final question that I asked Laykin was "Do you believe that the things you will learn in this class you will be able to take on and use in the future? Why?" she said that she "Yes, I believe that by the end of this class, I will be better prepared for my future than what I was before that class. I think that because, like I said previous questions, it will give me a better understanding of how to effectively communicate and publicly speak." Laykin is extremely excited for the things that she is going to learn and experience in CEO.
