FFA Livestock Judging
On Friday September 20, 2024, Brown County FFA took a group of 13 members to the John Wood Community College Livestock Judging event. All together at the contest there were 401 individuals. In this competition members were to judge 8 classes of animals. Of those classes there were 3 different classes of cattle, 3 different classes of sheep/ goats and 2 different classes of hogs. Along with judging, the contestants had to answer questions (10 in each set) for the different species. The varsity team (second year of FFA) placed third overall out of 70 teams and then placed high team in sheep and goats. The highest scoring member overall was Marshall Gallaher in 12th place out of 218 contestants. The greenhand team (first year of FFA) placed fourth overall out of 68 teams. The highest member was Ella Behymer placing 2nd overall out of 201 individuals.
