Brown County High School

Welcome to the new website for Brown County CUSD #1!  Thank you to Mrs. McCaskill and her website class for their hard work in making this transition to the new site!

After our unexpected finish to 2019-2020, we are glad to be back in the building, even if it is not fully as we wish.  Currently, high school students are in a hybrid model with students attending in person every other day, with their off day being remote, synchronous learning from home. 

We are proud and appreciative of our students, families, and staff members for their hard work and flexibility in making this schedule work.  The skills and knowledge that students and faculty have amassed through their work with Microsoft Teams over the last several months have been  unanticipated benefits of this unwanted pandemic.  All students, even those who have chosen to attend in full remote mode this semester, are now under the direction of Brown County High School teachers, as Illinois Virtual School is no longer being utilized by the district for remote learners.  

We are looking forward to the day when students can be back in the building daily.  We are also looking forward to a return to athletics and activities.  It has been a long few months of uncertainty and unrest, but this time has reminded those of us in education of something we already knew:  if you want to feel better about our world and its future, spend your time with young people!
